He's found Mike Rudd's signoff in the panel on a WACO permit for the electrical. On Plumbing, Mech,
and Building he'll be in on Friday to pay the fees due and we will then schedule the final inspections on
each for Monday /Tuesday.
Do you want to delete the Electrical fees we added to MST94- -00417 or shall I? (I'll confirm the electrical
signoff at the building final.)

Debbie's up -to -date on this one, we met with owner Kamair Dararee [dah- rah -ee] late Friday.
See Highlighted activity record, 9/13/95 plumbing inspection record, etc. in my file on this address and my
notes in current project list.
The original complaint that I received was that there was an unfinished deck ... which there is, 12 -14 ft.
above grade lower deck, upper deck is finished. Lower deck has no guardrails and no decking but is
accessed by French doors from an unfinished lower level. Owner Dararee says he plans to finish that
space this year ... under permit, of course. But when I pulled the records I found that he never received
final inspection approval, at least for Building, Mechanical, and Plumbing.
It looks like MJR may have passed the electrical final on 9/14/05 IF that's what Mike's entry of EFA
(Electrical Final Approved ?) mean versus his EFD (Electrical Final Denied ?) entry for 9/12/05.
Mr. Dararee volunteered that the original electrical contractor, Jacobs Electric, came back in 1996 and
installed an A/C unit but Debbie and I were unable to confirm whether that was covered under the original
MST. My bet is that it was not, since they came back long after the original construction and reportedly
ran conduit through the garage to feed the A/C (we haven't seen this yet.)
I seems likely that the builder, who he says has left the country (and may be a relative) didn't want to tell
our owner that he had failed to call for the finals, and since I have no reason to suspect that our owner, a
Realtor, knowingly closed on his mortgage and moved in without a C of 0, I'm willing to consider him
innocent as long as everything is cleared now.
The permit is a little old to reinstate for finals, although that might be the simplest way to add the fees for
finals and A/C but an alternative might be another MST to cover the finals and the A/C. A new MST
would also leave the old one expired, which might make the track record clearer if anyone had cause to
look at it in the future.
If Mike did final the electrical, which seems likely, we wouldn't call for a fee for that inspection but we'll
need to see the NC anyway. My thought is to charge $62.50 each for Building and Plumbing Finals and
the normal fees for Mechanical and Electrical for the A/C and wrap the finals and the A/C up in one new
minimum MST.
In re the deck, he plans to finish it with the lower level, which he says he'll do this summer. I'm inclined to
go along with that since the interior is supposedly unfinished, IF the french doors are barred until a permit
is issued for the interior finishing or within six months, whichever comes first. Or, I suppose, we could
issue a temporary C of 0 with a condition that all other inspections pass now and the deck be finished
within a shorter time, but I'll pass that to you.
Dararee has your number and is to call you on Monday, 12/19 to arrange an appointment, if needed, or
otherwise come in to take out permits as you direct, pay the fees, and schedule the inspections, and he is
eager to get them done as soon as possible.
MST94 -00417 has a note about a street opening permit being required for all work in the street but Paul
Izatt advised me that the work was done and they felt no need to get back into that now. There was a
PLM in 95 for sewer repair that may be related ... Mr. Dararee told me that the driveway people managed
to dump some mix into the sewer, perhaps through a cleanout, and that a plug set up at the lateral
connection and had to be excavated and removed. Since the PLM was finalled I see no need to get back
into the street permit issue.
