Re: Canterbury Crest (a.k.a. Canterbury Woods)
SW Canterbury Lane, Units 101 and 102
id gY
Dear Dana,
We understand that there was a broken gas line and subsequent fire on the Canterbury Woods
site in Tigard, OR. The location of the fire was at the northern corner of building number 3 near
the patio and deck of unittypes 0 and Dl.
We have reviewed the photos of the post -fire condition of_units D and D1 at building #3. It
appears that_the_damage to structural members is limited to the exterior of the deck area of Unit
D1 over the Unit D patio. Structural framing members and sheathing showing char will most likely
require replacement. We recommend that the rim joists, deck beam, beam hanger, and a portion
of the ledger be replaced. We should be notified if additional fire damage Is discovered.
We also recommend that the membrane installer review the deck membrane, the building wrap
material, and any flashing
We trust that this letter along address your concerns and provides adequate direction for repairs.
Please phone if you have any questions_
Sincerely,
Todd R. Eaton PE
