Gary,
I received the stamped drawing El on June 29, 2006 from Gregg Scholz, P.E. This drawing illustrates
the revision of adding a disconnect per your review.
I subsequently hand delivered a full -size set copy on your desk several days latter while you were out.
Hopefully this answers any questions on where /whom the drawing came from. If not, please call or email.
Regards,
Rob

Dear Sir,
I have started the plan review for the above mentioned project. Additional information is
required for the completion of the plan review.
Please submit the information requested below as soon as possible to facilitate the plan
review.
1) The feeder installed between the emergency generator and the transfer switch
requires a disconnect per Art. 225.31.
2) The required disconnect shall be located per Art. 225.32.
3) The exception for the disconnect mounted at the generator allowed in Art. 702.11
is only valid for a readily accessible disconnect. If this generator is mounted in a
fenced area and the generator is a locked unit making the disconnect mounted on
the generator inaccessible, a separate disconnect will be required.
4) Grounding of the generator shall comply with Art 250.4 (A)(5)
5) Provide Fault Current at service and at secondary of XFMR "T1" and other
information as required by OAR 918 - 311 -0010.
6) The plan requires a transfer switch capable of neutral transfer time delay. (See
Note 3.) How will this be accomplished with a 3 pole transfer switch?
7) All 30 amp circuits require a #10 awg ground conductor, not a #12 awg shown in
note 7 of the circuit schedule.
Thank you,
Gary Noble

Subject: Power Switch over at the Nich
At around 07:30 today the Nich will be switch over to temporary power to enable the crew to install the
new electrical service for the building. They are expecting that we will be on temporary power until around
1400 at which time they will switch us over to the new services.
We do not expect and interruption in the network when these switch overs occur. To be on the safe side
please save your documents often while you are working on them.
We will keep you updated by email during the day as things progress.
Thanks

Dear Rob:
The following is a response to comments from the electrical inspector dated June 5, 2006
regarding the review of the electrical plans for the IT Building remodel. Question numbers
correspond to the numbers on the original letter from the plans examiner.
1. The City has agreed to include a disconnect switch on the feeder from the generator.
5. The fault current at the service delivery point is 9,399 A. Since this is less than the
minimum rating for electrical equipment, no other calculations were done beyond the
service point. All equipment is specified to be rated 10,000 A minimum.
Please call if you have any questions
