NOTE:
This memo is to inform you of our observations and recommendations from our site visit
on Friday, January 23, 2009. The purpose of our visit was to review the roof framing that
varies from the design drawings. The items we observed are as follows:
1. The ridge beam RB7, 5 -1/8 "x12 ": glu -lam,' was not installed. I have reviewed the
loading on the ceiling beam, CB2 and determined it is capable of supporting the
additional load. This beam also is being posted down over a closet. door. We have
determined this header should be a minimum of (3) 2x12 to support this load.
2. The skylights have been moved across the ridge and the 4x10 beams,.RB4, may be
omitted. The framing at these skylights has a shorter span and is framed adequately.
3. The framing plans show a valley over Bedroom #3.. The elevations do not show this
roof configuration. It is acceptable to omit beams RB9. Also the hip beam Over the
Bonus room should be shown.mirrored at the dormer. We have provided a revised
roof plan showing these changes.
