L.: U MEMORANDUM iys „ o Ni1 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON . TO: Gene Birchell, Jim Funk, Hap Watkins FROM: Bob Poskin, Senior Plans Examiner DATE: June 10, 1998 Subject: La Paz Apartments - BUP 98 -0154 - 11895 SW 91st / ? - Gene Birchell: The attached drawing shows an alternate placement of the required hydrant for the new construction. In order to approve this, you will be required to do so as an alternate. As you will note on the drawing, the access off 91st and radius complies towards the alternate. The travel distance for your equipment is 120'. If approved, you would have to back out, as the radius at the second driveway does not comply with your requirements. If you approve this alternate, please provide so in writing as an alternate. ? - Hap Watkins - Jim Funk. The city will be upgrading 91st and replacing the utilities in same. The work for this project will probably start in Nov. 98. The work under La Paz's BUP has a completion date of Sept. 30. La Paz is requesting that they install the water main for the hydrant, cap same, and install the hydrant when the street improvements are completed. This would require Hap to authorize a Temporary Occupancy Permit until such time as the new water line in the street is installed. The addition is equipped with double the requirement for Fire Extinguishers, which are adequate in a temporary situation for Fire Control. Please advise me of your respective decisions ASAP. ADDITIONAL NOTES: - IMPORTANT! The analysis presented is output from software developed by Trus Joist MacMillan(TJM). TJM warrants the sizing of its products by this software will be accomplished in accordance with TJM product design criteria and code accepted design values. The specific product application, input design loads, and stated dimensions have been provided by the software user. This output has not been reviewed by a TJM Associate. - Not all products are readily available. Check with your supplier or TJM technical representative for product availability. - THIS ANALYSIS FOR TRUS JOIST MacMILLAN PRODUCTS ONLY! PRODUCT SUBSTITUTION VOIDS THIS ANALYSIS. - Allowable Stress Design methodology was used for Building Code BOCA analyzing the TJM Distribution product listed above. - Bracing(Lu): All compression edges (top and bottom) must be braced at 2' 8" o/c unless detailed otherwise. Proper attachment and positioning of lateral bracing is required to achieve member stability.
