Special Notes Regarding Fire Alarm System
This is a multiple phase building project. The 1 phase of the building project was
completed in 2004, plans for the 1 phase of the fire alarm system were submitted and
approved July 6th 2004.
All building HVAC shut down, and fire sprinkler water flow monitoring were completed
in the 1 phase of the fire alarm system.
The 2 phase of the building project entails smoke detection for the north wing of the
building, 2 -fire exit pull stations, 2 -door closers for hall way north doors, and 2 -fire
damper control.

Fire Alarm Operational Matrix
General Overview
The fire alarm system will have battery back up to sustain it in the case of an AC power
failure. Alarm system will have dual phone lines, a primary and secondary, if the primary
fails the secondary will transmit signals to central station. All functions of the fire alarm
system are supervised, (AC power, low battery, phone line integrity, and all alarm
circuits. ) Fire alarm troubles and alarms are both transmitted to the central station and
annunciated locally at the keypad and horn / strobes.
Specific Operation
• Troubles are annunciated at keypad in English text, at the same time they are
transmitted to the central station. Operator at central station will call a
predetermined response list to notify of trouble. Advanced Security & Fire will be
notified of system troubles at the same time.
• Alarms will be transmitted to the central station as well as annunciated locally.
Central station will notify 911 of fire alarm, and then call premises to try and
verify alarm. Response list will be called to notify users of alarm.
• Alarms can be silenced at the keypad by pressing fire silence button.
• Fire system will be in trouble until fire alarm system is reset by pressing the fire
reset button.
• Common area smoke detectors, HVAC duct smoke detectors, and sprinkler water
flow monitor for smoke and trigger a fire alarm.
• Upon trigger of fire alarm by any smoke detector, sprinkler water flow, or manual
fire pull station alarm will be annunciated locally via horn / strobe devices, central
station will be signaled, HVAC units and fire smoke dampers will be shut down
by the fire alarm panel.

Advanced Security & Fire is located in Hillsboro, Oregon and is owned and operated by
David Moravik. I have been in the alarm industry since 1981 and licensed as a
journeyman low voltage electrician since 1984, ( license # 611 LEA ). My state of Oregon
electrical license is ( CLE -8 ). Advanced Security & Fire is registered with the state of
Oregon contractor's board (contractor's board # 166176). We are a member of the NFPA,
and the local fire and burglary alarm association.
Central Station Information
Advanced Security & Fire monitors its alarm systems through Central Station Monitoring
in Estacada, Oregon. They are certified to monitor all alarm system types. Phone # is (
503- 630 -2896 ).
