Regarding the double pressure treated joists 84 pressure treated plywood called out for the platform
garage framing. Pressure treated wood is not required by the current code (O.R.S.C.- 2005). They were
only called out as an extra measure of protean against moisture. Also, single 2x12 floor joists 12"

GeoPacific Engineer, Jim Imbrie visited the site to review the foundation excavation subgrade. The
excavation generally exposed mediums stiff to stiff, native soils. The southeast corner had silted up
more than. one foot at the time of our visit. Due to the wet weather the rain has softened the subgrade
consideraiily in the upper foot. Diligent mucking is required.
Based on our observations, the observed soils below the softened zone are considered adequate for
' spread footing support to a maximum allowable bearing pressure of 1,500 psf. Footing -to -slope
setbacks appear adequate at more than 6 feet horizontal; the existing slope is gentle at about 20
percent grade, Footings should not bear within a 1H_1V plane from the base of any vertical cut
