Correspondence N15Tq -DD4L30 //330 5w' 9ah. / A- V£ /& Jfj 0 , July 29, 1993 CITY OF TIG . OREGON Joseph H. Bui 11330 SW 92nd Tigard, OR 97223 Dear Mr. Bui: In reference to my inspection dated 7/28/93, I respectfully submit the following to aid in helping you understand what you must do to clear the "red tag" I placed at your residence. The complaint that we received was in response to a deck, pond and a shop /shed. The decking is within the guidelines according to UBC and CABO standards, which is less than 30 inches in height and complies with our regulations. The pond was found to be in violation due to the depth greater than 24 inches. This is according to the City of Tigard Ordinance #14.24.020 (3). It further identifies procedures you must take by constructing an enclosure, Ordinance 14.24.080, and /or Ordinance 14.24.070. A copy of these Ordinances are attached. The shop /shed was found to be slightly over sized, with outside dimensions of 10'3" X 12'5" and thought to be mostly new construction. You are allowed 120 Sq.Ft. before you have to obtain a building permit. After a further inspection at 5:00 p.m. on July 28, 1993, I found that the shop /shed was existing and the only work done by you was the following: 1. Construction of a new roof (new roof joists, decking and cover). 2. New post and beam with rim joist. 3. The cutting of floor decking at the ends, which were applied and extended over the edge. Normally, these items would not warrant a permit if within the 120 Sq.Ft., but any area over 120 Sq.Ft. becomes a factor, especially post and beam construction. Be that as it may, I feel that at this time, I can in good faith, ignore the slight over -build of your shop /shed. Therefore, no permit will be necessary for this construction. 13125 SW Hall Blvd., Tigard, OR 97223 (503) 639 -4171 TDD (503) 684 -2772 The only permit that you must be concerned with at present will be a permit for the pond. Please identify the method you wish to comply with and obtain the permit in accordance with the requirements. If I can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact me at 639 -4171. Respectfully, V Rick Bolen RB /jf Enclosures
