This letter is in reference to a single family dwelling our company is building at
the site address of 15083 SW 79 Ave in Tigard. We are writing you with intentions of
revising our storm drain system we first submitted in our site plans.
We first submitted our site plans with the idea of bringing the storm drain down
the side of the subject property then across the driveway and down the neighboring
property to the street. This was the approved way on our site plan for the storm drainage.
The project is currently at the point where we have trenched down the side of the
subject property to lay our utilities and drainage.
After reevaluating our storm drain path and speaking with Hap and a few of the
engineers we believe we have come up with a better design for the drainage. The
engineer's have been more than helpful by coming out to the site and working with us to
find the best route for our storm drainage. We don't believe that by cutting across the
driveway and running the storm down the other side will be the most effective route.
Our proposal is to run our storm down the side of the subject property with a
minimum of 1% fall 12 inches below grade to point x, which will be between 40 or 50
feet from the street, where it daylights to a shallow pan ditch, burlap lined with 2" clean
rock. The ditch will become shallower to the existing grade as you get closer to the street.
We do feel this is the most effective and best method because the neighboring
property has their storm drain day lighting at the street and it has never caused any
problems. So with day lighting our drain so far from the street we see no future problems.
We hope to have a quick response due to the fact that we would like to close our trenches
and get our subs paid and down the road. Thank you.
