The roof system for the Duncan Building is being changed from a "steel" truss
system to a wood truss system by Truss Joist Macmillan. Please find the
enclosed TJ /M approved shop drawings with Addendum No. 1, which is a

Dear Mr. Poskins:
The following is in response to the comments we received from your plan review
for the above described project. My numbered responses correlate to your
numerical listing under each category.
S GE RAL COMMENTS:
heet 3.2 the vertical rebar spacing was noted as 34" on the rebar
levations(sheet 3.2). It has been changed to 32 "o -c as noted elsewhere.
Calculations are enclosed for your review.
ENERGY COIV(LIANCE:
Lightin is not part of this permit. The lighting has been noted under Deferred
P its, on sheet 0.1.
ACCESSIBILITY:
a. A note regarding the "no open riser" requirement has been noted on sheet
2.1 and 5.3. Detail 4/5.3 has been revised also.
b. A continuous hand rail has been noted on sheet 2.1 and 5.3.
c. The exterior stairs have been lengthened to allow for the hand rail
extension and door opening clearance. Refer to sheet 5.3, plan at second
floor.

FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY:
1. The 3' -O" door leading into the floor space from the one hour enclosure
has been noted as one hour doors(1 and 2nd floors).
2. A note regarding attic access has been noted on sheet 2.3
3. Attic ventilation has been noted on sheet 2.4. A combination of roof
vents, ridge vents, and soffit vents are being used.
STRUCTURAL COMMENTS:
. At this time the owner believes that plastic sky lights will be used. Due
to the uncertainty of the owner on this item, we have required that a
"cut sheet" be submitted for approval. This requirement has been
noted on sheet 2.4.
