The site is located approximately 500 feet north of the intersection between SW Durham Road and SW 74 Avenue in Tigard, Oregon. The City of Tigard permit numbers for the project were BUP 98- 0227/0228 and SIT 98 -0020. We completed a geotechnical engineering report for the site, dated April 30, 1998, and observed construction from August 1998 to February 1999. The project included 2 single- story structures, Buildings A and B. Building A has a floor plate of approximately 9,570 square feet and Building B has a floor plate of approximately 33,500 square feet. Building A is located approximately 5 feet from the top of a slope heading down to Fenno Creek_ Large portions of the site were found to contain undocumented fill. We recommended founding the building footings on granular pad and embedding the footings for Building .A up to 6 feet below finished grade. Members of our geotechnical staff monitored the compaction of structural fill, and the preparation of footing, floor slab, and pavement subgrade. Our work was completed on a part -time and on -call basis. The results of our site visits were summarized in a field report.
