I created the above referenced permit and routed the application for proposed change of use and floor plans to Dan
Nelson for review. I have also activated the parallel review in Accela for planning staff approval.
Per your request, I have created this permit for review of the change of use and occupancy only at this site address. The
applicants have been informed that they must submit a building permit application and plans for the structural repairs
to the floor and the addition of partition wall(s) that they constructed. They have also been informed that they must
submit an electrical permit application for the electrical work that was done in the partition wall. Both permit
applications must list licensed professional contractors, and the electrical permit application must be signed by a
licensed electrical supervisor. The applicants have been informed that they cannot be issued permits to perform their
own work on structures that they lease.
During the submittal process, the applicant asked me what the process was if they decided to change the proposed use
of Section 3 as identified on their floor plan. I explained that they had two options; turn in a revision prior to approval of
the application submitted today, or turn in a new submittal for a review of the change of use and occupancy at a later
date.
Question: If the tenant is creating (3) new separate occupancies within this (1) existing space, do they need to have
suite numbers assigned and pay addressing fees? Maybe we can get an answer from planning on this before we issue
any permits.
