Thanks for your time on the phone this morning.
As I mentioned, the clamps and rails are all one component. The Unirac engineering report rates maximum uplift for this
component at 96.6mph (bottom of Page 2 of engineers report attached and sent earlier). I hope this is the spec you were
looking for.
The other answers are below.
Time is crucial on these Solar jobs since tax incentives are a big part of the financing package, and the end of the year is

I failed to get your direct line number.
The load is <3.5 psf as indicated in on the installation detail form which is page 2 in the site drawing attachment sent
earlier (I have attached here for quick reference). Look at column 3 on the right side of page. The paragraph above this
refers to the requirement of any attachment within 36" of roof edge need to be 24" OC which indicates we are aware of the
requirement and will comply.
I need to know if this answers those two questions.
I will have to find the info on the clamp spec >75lbs. uplift.

1 have reviewed Unirac SolarlvlountrM "Code- C:'onlpliant Installation lwlanual 227 ",
copyright February 2008 and.certiiy that the information and results are accurate. To
determine the design level forces, the appropriate wind speed shall be determined as
•
prescribed by local jurisdiction requirements and applied in accordance to the 2007
Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC) which is based upon the 2006 International
Building Code (IBC) as amended by the State of Oregon. The IBC requires that wind
loading be determined based upon ASCE 7 -05 and Unirac's Manual 227 utilizes the
ASCE 7 -05 using Method 1, that which is dependent upon conditions of spatial form,
height and other structure parameters that are specified in the code provisions for
determining the applied wind loading pressures imposed onto the Unirac SolarMountTm
rails supporting solar panels_ The SolarMountTM railing and anchorage requirements for
the installation are properly represented in the Installation Manual 227.
For other conditions not covered by Method 1, the deterrnination of wind pressures needs
to be determined by the aforementioned OSS(', IBC and ASCE 7 procedures by a
licensed professional.

Unirac SolarMountTM is evaluated for use in locations where wind pressure requirements
do not exceed 50 psi'. For loading in excess of 50 psf, Unirac or a licensed professional
should he contacted for suitability of installation. For buildings more than 4 stories or
more than 45 feet above average ground level, or other specialty buildings defined in the
OSSC, a licensed Structural Engineer should be contacted for evaluation and certification
of the Unirac SolarMounf'M and solar system.
By this letter, 1 certify that the Unirac SolarMountTM assembly, when installed in
accordance with the Installation Manual 227 will meet the .requirements of the building
codes adopted by Oregon. Others should evaluate the structure to which the Unirac
SolarMountTM system is to be connected on a case -by -case basis, per Part i Installer's
Responsibilities of the installation Manual, to ensure its adequacy to accept attachments
and to support all applied loadings per the building code.
