Dear Bert:
An Engine Company inspection of the subject occupancy was conducted August
15, 1992, by Bob Stacklie, Engine 222. The inspection team noted that a
rated wall had been partially removed and requested that it be restored.
At the request of the building tenant and the building owner we inspected
the premises on August 19, 1992. A section of the two -hour rated occupancy
separation wall, approximately 16 feet wide and 12 feet high, has indeed
been removed.
The rated wall was constructed to provide a two -hour separation between an
office and a flammable liquid handling /storage area. The previous tenant in
the space was a distiller of spirits. The current tenant is a wholesale wire
rope distributor, and as such is classed as a B -2 Occupancy. The tenant
space is on the south end of the building, and the separation wall was 20
feet from the exterior of the building.
In our opinion the rated wall is not required at this time, and we would
request that no further compliance action be taken. Thank you for your

Subject: Fire inspection at Wrightrope. 16444 S.W. 72nd.
The previous tenant in the space, Crown Century Ltd., a distiller of
whiskey had alcohol fermenting tanks and the use was classified as
hazardous by the fire district. The two hour fire separation wall that is
the subject of this discussion was installed specifically for this use.
Crown Century went out of business early in 1981. Wrightrope, a
distributor of Wire Rope moved into this space on June 24, 1981. This is
a non - hazardous user, so the fire wall is no longer required. - ---
The fire inspector is Bob Stacklie, Engine 222, 692 -4042 S/i 3 /9Z__
Mackenzie did permit drawings for the Crown Century TI in . •' .
