PARTIALLY ACCEPTED
The floor plan submitted did not indicate the racks as designed. The calculations indicate pallet
loading. Per our discussion, the tenant intends to store 12 foot rolls of carpet and vinyl flooring
on back to back racks that are separated by 4.5 feet. From our discussion the load beams will
not be at 3.5 foot intervals. Revised calculations are required.
The sprinkler plans previously approved by the city were designed for Ordinary Hazard. The
system required for the protection of the vinyl flooring and carpeting should be designed for
Group A Plastics. The system needs to be re- designed.
I would like to have a meeting with the Rack Designer, the Fire Sprinkler System Designer and
the Tenant that will be using the rack storage to discuss the issues surrounding the high piled
storage of the materials indicated. The purpose of the meeting will be to get site specific details
to all of the involved designers and expedite the permit process.
