Purpose: The storm drainage system has been designed based on the requirements of the City of Tigard and is submitted for preliminary review by the City of Tigard. The site size is 2.49 acres and is located North of Cherry Street and West of 72n Avenue. The applicant is proposing to develop the site into a commercial building with approximately 27% of the site to be landscaped. The site currently is covered in grass. The existing slopes of the site range from 4 % -7 %. 1. Conveyance Assumptions The Rational Method will be used to develop the basin flows. Runoff coefficients were found using the following variables: Hydrologic SCS Group Type C Pre - Developed: Developed: Pervious C =0.25 Pervious C =0.25 Impervious C =0.90 Impervious C =0.90 Mannings N = 0.013 2. Conveyance System Calculations Appendix A shows the basins used for design of the 10 -year conveyance system. Appendix B shows the results of our calculations for the on -site 10 -year conveyance system. The Rational Method was utilized to calculate the peak flow (10 -year storm) in order to size the storm pipes using Mannings equation. The storm connection was sized as a 18" pipe. An initial time of concentration of 5.00 minutes was used. 3. Water Quality Calculations Stormwater Management shall accomplish Water Quality in a 6' x 8' compost filter. This system is currently being used throughout the Portland Metro area and meets all City water quality requirements. See attached details in the Supporting Data. 1 7 j 4. Water Quantity Calculations The detention facility as shown on the north side of Cherry Street was designed using Water Works hydrology software for storm event routing. A multi- orifice outlet structure will limit the post - development runoff from the above storm events to that of the pre - development runoff.
