Recently a question has arisen regarding the permanent attachment of Trane Voyager 11 rooftop
HVAC units to the roof curb by 'Bolting' or other attachment means.
The Trane Company recommends that units "nor be permanently attached to the roof cutb unless
required by °Local Codes °. Ali new Crane Voyager II rooftop HVAC units are designed to "cap
down over the roof cuff and have a very small amount of Tod' on the roof curb to facilitate in the
reduction of unit vibration and noise. in addition. these rooftop HVAC units weigh approximately
2,500 pounds each, which would limit their need to be permanently attached.
If you or your customer require further clarification of Trane's position on this matter, please don't
hesitate to contact me. Thank you.
