The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code
(OMSC) 2002 edition; and the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Ordinance 99 -01 (TVFR99-
011 1999 edition. The submitted plans are approved subject to the following.
SITE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
1. The Northeast stair tower is a rated corridor. Provide smoke /fire dampers at all
penetrations of rated construction, 1 S ' and 2 floor. See architectural plans for
clarification.
2. The second floor Mail Room is an Area of Rescue Assistance. Provide a smoke /fire
damper at the duct penetrating the wall. See architectural drawings for room
identification.
FYI A fire damper will be required when ducts penetrate the rated wall or ceiling on the
South side of the building. The rated wall/ceiling is being used in lieu of the Building
Code required parapet.
GENERAL MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Each appliance shall be provided with a shutoff valve separate from the appliance.
The shutoff valve shall be located in the same room and within six feet of the
appliance served. Access shall be provided to the shutoff valve. C409.5 OMSC
• Equipment and appliances regulated by this code requiring electrical connections
shall have a positive means of disconnect in accordance with the Electrical Code.

• Appliances serving different areas of a building other than where they are installed
shall be permanently marked in an approved manner that uniquely identifies the
appliance and the area it serves. 304.10 OMSC
• Appliances shall be accessible for inspection, service, repair or replacement without
removal of permanent construction. 306.1 OMSC
• Manufacturer's installation instructions shall be available on the jobsite at the time of
inspection. 304.1 OMSC
• Condensate from cooling coils or evaporators shall be collected and discharged to an
approved plumbing fixture or disposal area. Do not drain to parking lots or sidewalks.

Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall
be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors
throughout all phases of construction. 106.4.2 OSSC
Premises Identification: Approved numbers or addresses shall be provided for all new -
buildings in such a position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road
fronting the property.
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the
enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of
Tigard in tracking and processing the documents.
