Submittal documents for the above referenced project have been reviewed for
conformance with the applicable 1996 Oregon Specialty Codes and other applicable
codes and standards. The following comments are noted:

Provide a rated corridor in accordance with OSSC, Section 1005.7. Revised
� drawings shall also include a door schedule.
2. The interior stairwell is considered as part of the corridor system and shall have
the same construction standards set out in OSSC, Section 1005.7. If this
stairwell exits into an exiting corridor, that corridor shall meet the requirements of
OSSC, Section 1005.7, unless the stairwell exits directly to the outside. Please
provide details.
3. Provide exit signs in accordance with OSSC, Section 1013.1 and illuminate same
in accordance with OSSC, Section 1012.1.
4. Provide Type 2 -A fire extinguishers throughout so that the travel distance to an
extinguisher does not exceed 75 feet [UFC Std. 10-1 3.2.1].
5. All cabinets recessed into fire -rated wall assemblies, such as for portable fire -
extinguishers, shall be fire - blocked at the top and bottom and have an additional
layer of 5/8" GWB, Type X, between the back of the cabinet and the opposing
GWB. Provide a detail in the revised plans.
1. Every page of each set of plans containing drawings and specifications required
to be prepared by a State of Oregon licensed engineer must be stamped and
signed with the expiration date of that engineer's license written below his or her
signature [OAR 820 -10 -620 and ORS 672.020 (2)].
A. One set of revised plans, specifications and engineering shall have a
fresh stamp and signature.
i. Provide plans and specifications stamped appropriately.
2. Suspended acoustical ceiling systems shall comply with the following:
A. Be anchored to resist lateral seismic forces [OSSC, Section 1630.2 and
Table 16 -0] and provide suspension wires not smaller than No. 12 gauge
spaced at 4" O /C, perimeter wires on terminal ends of cross and main
runners at a maximum of 8" from each wall, four No. 12 gauge wires
splayed 90 degrees from each other at an angle not exceeding 45
degrees from the plane of the ceiling with a strut centered and extending
to the structural members supporting the floor or roof above and spaced
12" on center in both directions starting 6' from each wall; and

B. All lighting fixtures weighing Tess than 56 Ibs, shall be positively attached
to the suspended ceiling system [UBC Std., Section 25.213]; and
C. #12 gauge wires shall be attached to the grid members within 3" of each
comer of the fixtures; and
D. Lighting fixtures shall have two No. 12 slack wires connected from the
fixture to the structure above; and
E. Ceiling- mounted air terminals or services weighing Tess than 20 Ibs. shall
be positively attached to ceiling runners.
i. Provide details in the revised plans.
. Toilet rooms shall be provided with an openable exterior window of not less than
3 sq. ft. or a mechanically operated exhaust system capable of exhausting 50
CFM for each water closet or urinal installed [OSSC, Section 1202.2.5].
A. Provide the specifications on the revised plans.
. Toilet room floors shall have a smooth, hard, nonabsorbent surface which
extends upward onto the walls at least 5" [OSSC, Section 807.1.2].
A. Provide the specifications on the revised plans.

1. Provide an engineer's analysis of each structural member supporting the
- additional HVAC units [OSSC, Section 106.3.2].
2. The attachment of permanent equipment (HVAC) supported by the building's
structural components shall be designed to resist the total design seismic forces
prescribed in Section 1603.2 of the Structural Specialty Code. Provide an
engineer's design specifying attachment requirements [OSSC, Section 106.3.2
and OMSC, Section 304.4].
3. The heat/ventilation system shall provide outside air per occupant in all portions
of the building [OSSC, Section 1202.2.1 and Table 12P].
A. Provide outside air specifications on the revised plans.
4. Each individual roof - mounted HVAC shall be permanently labeled as to the areas
it serves [OMSC, Section 305.5]. In addition, each unit shall be equipped with a
power disconnect. A 120 -volt receptacle shall be located within 25' of each unit
[OMSC, Section 309.1].

5. Air moving systems (combination of units), supplying air in access of 2000 CFM
to enclosed spaces, shall be equipped with an automatic shut -off. The smoke
detectors shall be supervised when a fire detection or alarm system is provided
[OMSC, Section 608].
