Attached are the Plans with the revisions we discussed on the telephone on 1.23.02. The
following is my response to your written comments: o

/1 The wall is now revised to show no door opening, and be infilled with wall construction per
new Keynote 10.
x The Office is used by a non staff person that uses the existing exterior door to the office.
There is a existing Staff Office adjacent to the Dining Room revised, and corrrectly shown as +�

4. The building square footage in now indicated under the revised Project Information notes.
There is (16) residents, with an assumed 50% split of males and females. Per Table 29 -A, a

(3) showers provided. Per Table 11 -B, (1) accessible Bathroom is provided. Note that no
roll -in shower is required.

The City of Tigard Building Division has reviewed the submitted building plans for the above
referenced address in accordance with the Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC), 1998
edition and the Uniform Fire Code, 1997 edition as amended by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
The following items need to be addressed and are not in compliance with the above mentioned
Codes:
1) 312A.3.2 Occupancy Separation. A one -hour occupancy separation is required
between the office and the new bedrooms. The one -hour door and wall are required.
2) Door serving the office portion is required to be Accessible provide proper door
clearances of 18 inches on the pull side and 12 inches on the push side.
3) Separation of sleeping rooms from other rooms and corridors by wall construction
self closing and latching doors for smoke control.
4) The total square footage has not been submitted for review. Building shall be
provided with the minimum plumbing fixtures as per table 29 -A. One shall be
accessible to all customers.
5) Sprinkler system shall comply with UBC standard 9 -1.
6) All new doors shall be equipped with lever action hardware. •
7) Plans indicate egress control devices shall automatically deactivated upon activation
of either the smoke detectors, electrical power outage or sprinkler system alarm.
Please submit revised floor plans showing compliance with codes.
