LEGACY LINE FAN COIL B r y a n t
SIZES 018 THRU 060
Product Data
AIR HANDLER TECHNOLOGY
AT ITS FINEST
The FB4C fan coil combines the proven technology of Bryant fan
coil units with Puron ®, the environmentally sound refrigerant, and
are loaded with popular features. The design features contoured
ttiM condensate pans with rugged drain connections, ensuring that little
water is left in the unit at the end of the cooling duty cycle. The
lack of standing condensate and corrosion free pans improves IAQ
and product life, features homeowners appreciate.
Standard features include grooved copper tubing and louvered
aluminum fins. Coil circuiting has also been updated to make the
most of all Bryant heat pumps and air conditioners. Units come
with solid state fan controls, 1 -inch (25mm) thick insulation with
0 R -value of 4.2, multi -speed motors, and fully- wettable coils.
Units can accommodate factory- and /or field - installed heaters
from 3 to 30 kW.
It also should be noted that the unique cabinet design of these fan
coils meet new stringent regulations for cabinet air leakage - a
requirement of 2% cabinet leakage rate when tested at 1.0 inches of
static pressure.
I► The FB4C fan coil design is loaded with popular features. These
fan coils utilize the latest in electronic commutation motor (ECM)
0 • technology through the use of high efficiency, X -13, blower
• I , motors, allowing reliable air delivery with increased static pressure.
It comes in a pre - painted (taupe metallic) galvanized steel casing
and a factory - supplied power plug for ease of installation.
DuraCoat'" provides a tin plating of the indoor coil's copper
hairpins. This creates a barrier between the corrosion- causing
A10083 elements and the coil. All FB4C units are equipped with a piston
meter device.
STANDARD FEATURES
• High efficiency ECM (electronic commutating motor) X -13 motors - all sizes
• Integrated motor controls have replaced integrated circuit board
• Five available speed tags to meet a wide range of applications

STANDARD EQUIPMENT (CONT.)
HEAT PUMPS — DEFROST CONTROL.The control is a combination time /temperature device. The defrost control is
designed to control the removal of frost, or ice from the outdoor coil of a heat pump unit.
De- frosting or de -icing is initiated at a pre - selected time interval, provided the outdoor coil is below a preset initiation
temperature. The de- frosting or de -icing cycle is terminated as soon as the outdoor coil rises to a preset temperature or
after a preset time termination, regardless of wind velocity.
BWR —A HEAT PUMPS — SERVICEABILITY. These units are designed to provide easy convenient access to components,
so that inspections, diagnostic examination, adjustment or repair take Tess time and keep service expenses down. These
new BWR -A models have located the switchover valve, expansion valve, check valve, and two filter- driers in a compartment
at the top of the unit, behind the front nameplate panel. The electrical components are located in a compartment behind a
panel at the top left hand side of the unit.
With these components neatly located in their own compartment, this leaves the compressor area with spacious room for
convenient accessibility.
Service access panels may be removed for diagnostic inspection with the unit operating.
•
HEAT PUMPS — O.D. TEM PERATURE SENSOR. These units are equipped with an outdoor temperature sensing device (a
thermistor and related circuitry) which, as outdoor temperature variations occur, acts to stabilize the indoor thermostat
and thus to maintain the indoor temperature at which the thermostat is set. The thermistor circuit effectively cancels out
"droop ", generally known in heating as "Cold 70 ".
