Dear Robert,
The following document is a response to your Building Plan Review letter
dated December 24, 1997. This project will conform with the applicable
1996 Oregon Specialty Codes and other applicable codes and standards.
ENERGY COMPLIANCE:
All lighting moved or replaced will meet all requirements of the Oregon
Non - Residential Energy Code. The signed electrical drawings have a note
confirming that this will be done. (The electrical drawings have been
submitted separately by Oregon Electric Group.)
ACCESSIBILITY:
Item #1 and #2: The proposed barrier removal scope of work for this
project will complete all required A.D.A accessibility requirements. (This
facility has/will have approved A.D.A. accessible Men's and Women's
restrooms, drinking fountains, public phone area, door hardware,
maneuvering clearances, entry, parking stalls, etc.)
(Refer to the Revised Barrier Removal Cost Breakdown)
FIRE & LIFE SAFETY:
Item #1: The lower level corridor will be constructed per the attached
"Revised Option B" detail drawing BPR -1. Note: In order to reduce the
'\ conflicts of existing conditions the new sheet rock lid will be below the Licensed •

Item #2: The existing 1 -HR Corridor 223 will provide a smoke -tight
vestibule for the Freight Elevator in lieu of providing a new smoke -tight
door in Elevator Vestibule 113.
Item #3: A new smoke - tight, 20 min. rated door will be provided on the
2nd Floor Elevator /Stair 239 in lieu of Corridor 140. (There is not enough
clearance in the lower level corridor.) Refer to the attached drawing
BPR -2. This door will be on a magnetic hold -open activated by the alarm
system.
Item #4: The following doors have been site verified to have 20 minute
labels:
Doors 113B, 109, 142A, 133 and 112B.
ENVIRONMENTAL AIR:
The outside air requirements from OSSC, Chapter 12 will be addressed by
the Mechanical Contractor.
MECHANICAL /SPRINKLER SYSTEM:
Separate mechanical and sprinkler system applications and plans will be
submitted. (The mechanical drawings have been submitted separately by
Fullman Company. The fire protection system drawings will be submitted
by 3 -D Protection and Basic Fire Protection.)
Attached are two sets of the revised submittal documents for your use in
issuing the Building Permit. We are anxious to complete the review process
and obtain our building permit. If you have any additional questions or
concerns please do not hesitate to call.
