6. There shall be no signs or advertising visible from the
exterior of the premises.

7. There shall be no outdoor storage of materials, vehicles, or
products on the premises. Indoor storage of materials or
products shall not exceed the limitations imposed by the
provisions of the Building, Fire, Health, and Housing Codes.
8. There shall be no noise, obnoxious odors, vibrations, glare,
fumes, electrical interference, heat (detectable to normal
sensory perception outside the structure), traffic, and
discharge of materials, gases, or fluids into the sanitary
sewer or storm drainage systems which are in excess of what is
normally associated with residential uses.
9. The Home Occupation Permit shall be renewed annually.
10. A business tax shall be paid annually for the business.
If any of the preceding conditions are not met, this Home
Occupation Permit will be immediately invalidated.

Dear Mr. Rosenfeld;
I am writing in regards to a City of Tigard Home Occupation Permit
for which you applied. As I was reviewing your application for
final approval two items were identified as needing further
clarification. These items are:
1. Section 18.142.050 (A) (2) (a) of the Community Development
Code states: "The home occupation shall be operated
entirely within the dwelling unit and a conforming
accessory structure. The use and storage of materials
and products shall not occupy more than 25% of the
combined residence and accessory structure gross floor
area. The total area used in the accessory building
shall not exceed 500 square feet. ..."
Your application states that the accessory structure is 864 square
feet in size. The indication is that the entire structure will be
utilized for the home occupation. As such, the maximum square
footage alotment noted above will be exceeded. Please indicate
only that portion of the accessory structure which will be used in
connection with "Ken Rosenfeld Glass ". I have enclosed a copy of
the floow plan which you provided for your convenience.
2. Please provide a short statement clarifying the operation
of your business. Please address any offiste impacts
(noise, odors, fumes, etc.) which may be detected by
neighboring properties. This is requested because the
operation of an artist's glass art studio is not familiar
to the City. The statement need only be one or two
paragraphs in length.
If it is necessary for the operation of this business to obtain
approval from the fire district prior to storage of any flammable
or hazardous materials on the property please provide this
verification to the City.

Dear Mr. Pomeroy:
1 am writing in response to your letter 9f N4vemker
1990. 1 plan to use no more than 500 square fast of the
accessory building for my business. This, of course, is
less than 25% of the combined residence and accessory
structure gross floor area. 1 have darkened the area
to be used on the attached floor plan.
Following is a description of the method 1 use to produce
my art. small pieces of purchased colored glass are
manipulated using a torch. Oxygen (similar to what you
would see in a dentist's office) ig m{ge4 in this proem'
The glass is drawn into shapes and then arranged on disks
of clear glass and heated in a kiln until fused into a
single piece. My work produces virtually no noise and does
not produce odors, glare or fumes of any kind whatsoever.
1 do not store any flammable or hazardous materials at ail.
