Dear Ms. Henzel,
This letter is in response to your Permit Review Comments Letter (dated June 5, 2006) for the above -
referenced project. The following items have been addressed in the revised drawing submittals
(dated July 21, 2006) and have been itemized in this letter below - responses are in italics.

1. Our files show no site permit was issued. Please submit site plan with permit application
along with valuation of site work. Complete form to show all impervious area, excavation,
grading and fill volumes. Please complete both sides of the form. Forms attached.
Site permit application was submitted on June 2, 2006.

ST$ UCTURAL
The structural review was completed by Miller Consulting. The plan review #1 dated June
1, 2006, was E- Mailed to Mildren Design Group for response (review doc. attached).

A complete set of structural drawings has been included in this submittal in response to the

FIRE LIFE - SAFETY / GENERAL
4. Suspended ceiling not listed as deferred submittal, please provide design per ch 16 OSSC.
See new ceiling details (1 through 5) have been provided on sheet A2.3.1 that address the
design requirements of OSSC chapter 16.
5. Egress path and occupant load 1004, 1013, 1014 (The construction documents shall show
in sufficient detail the location, construction size and character of all portions of the means
of egress in compliance with the provisions of this code. The construction documents shall
designate the number of occupants to be accommodated on every floor, and in all rooms and
spaces. OSSC 106.1.2)

These permit drawings are for the building shell only. Additional egress path and occupant
ad information will be provided with individual tenant improvement permits.
6. Provide roof assembly design information showing roofing meets perfomance requirements
per OSSC 1504, chapter 16 and OSSC 2603.
Detail 5 /A5.Y indicates the roof assembly design. See attached specification requirements
regarding the various performance, structural and insulation properties of the proposed
roofing system.
7. Provide locations /information on overflow drains or scuppers being used as required by
OSSC 1504.
Roof overflow drain information has been provided on detail 14/A5.2 and sheets A2.3,
A2.2.1, A2.2.2, A2.1.1, A2.1.2 and sheet C3.0.
8. Provide lateral load design information on exterior glazing per OSSC 2404.
Exterior glazing is a design build item - the main structural system has been designed to
support loads imparted to it by the storefront glazing system. See structural drawings and
calculations for additional information.
. Fire protection systems (106.1.1.1 Fire protection system shop drawings. Shop drawings
for the fire protection system(s) shall be submitted to indicate conformance with this code
and the construction documents and shall be approved prior to the start of system installation.
Shop drawings shall contain all information as required by the referenced installation
standards in Chapter 9.)
Not part of this review. Shop drawings for the fire protection system shall be submitted prior
to the start of system installation.
10. Fire resistive rated structural member locations and assembly 714, 715
See Sheet A0.1 for Building Fire Resistive Requirements (Table 601). The fire- resistance
rating of structural members and assemblies comply with this information. Opening
protectives meet the fire resistive requirements indicated on A0.1 and comply with section
715.
11. Deferred submittals such as Truss Joist Shop Drawings, TJI floor joists, Acoustical ceiling
suspension system, Fire stopping, Intercom system, Specialty retaining walls, etc, will be
charged a deferred submittal fee based on the valuation of the portion of the work being
deferred. The minimum fee shall be $200.00. This fee is in addition to the project plan
review fee based on the total project value. OAR 918- 050 -0150

"Documents for deferred submittal items shall be submitted to the registered design
professional in responsible charge who shall review them and forward them to the building
official with a notation indicating that the deferred submittal documents have been reviewed
and been found to be in general conformance to the design of the building. The deferred
submittal items shall not ve installed until the design and submittal documents have been
approved by the building official. Oregon Structural Specialty Code Section 106.3.4.2"
