Dear Ms. Henzel,
This letter is in response to your Permit Review Comments Letter (dated June 13, 2006) for the
above - referenced project. The following items have been addressed in the revised drawing
submittals (dated July 21, 2006) and have been itemized in this letter below - responses are in
italics.
GENERAL
1 . Provide geotechnical report .. .
Geotechnical report is attached.
2. Sheet C2.0 shows fire hydrant/sprinkler vault located on private property check with TWD
for location requirements on private property.
Design is per Tualatin Valley Water District standards.
RETAINING WALLS
3. Provide location of all retaining walls on site along with design and construction if wall is
not a deferred submittal.
Retaining walls not identified as deferred (see Site Plan, sheet A1.1) have been incorporated
into the Building One permit set of documents- please refer to this set of drawings for
additional information. New drawings include: A1.2.3, A1.2.4, A1.4, S7.1, S7.2 and S7.3
(and structural calculations).
4. Drainage f o r retaining walls shall be shown on the plans .. .
Drainage piping has been provided - see Building One set sheets C3.0, A1.2.3 and A4.1.

FIRE REVIEW
5. The submitted hydrant work sheet shows a number of hydrants required ... where are the
remaining four hydrants located.
See the attached email regarding the design team meeting with John Dalby, Deputy Fire
Marshal. Per our meeting, the existing two hydrants are acceptable (see email item #1).
6. Provide standpipe layout for the parking structure.
See locations of dry standpipes in Building Two set sheets PA2.1.1 and PA2.1.2 (locations
were reviewed and deemed acceptable during the meeting with John Dalby - see email item
#3).

7. Underground Fire Fighting Water Supply ... � � \JC
Sprinkler configuration is a design build item - coordination and detailing will be provided
at the time of the deferred submittal.
ACCESSIBILITY
8. Provide site accessibility information as required per section 1103 and 1104.
See Building One sheets A1.1 and C2.0 for exterior routes of travel meeting OSSC section
1103. Accessible parking areas (surface parking to the north of Building One) have been
designed in accordance with OSSC section 1104 - see details on sheet A1.3 for additional
accessible parking information.
9. Deferred submittals such as Truss Joist Shop Drawings, TJI floor joists, Acoustical ceiling
suspension system, Fire stopping, Intercom system, Specialty retaining walls, etc, will be
charged a deferred submittal fee based on the valuation of the portion of the work being
deferred. The minimum fee shall be $200.00. This fee is in addition to the project plan
review fee based on the total project value. OAR 918- 050 -0150
"Documents for deferred submittal items shall be submitted to the registered design
professional in responsible charge who shall review them and forward them to the building
official with a notation indicating that the deferred submittal documents have been reviewed
and been found to be in general conformance to the design of the building. The deferred
submittal items shall not ve installed until the design and submittal documents have been
approved by the building official. Oregon Structural Specialty Code Section 106.3.4.2"
