Re: Green Office Building - Tigard, Oregon
- - - Dear Mr. Lampella:
The presently permitted drawings (sheet #2) indicate a floor ceiling and roof ceiling
system for second and third floor assemblies UL Des L531. The Owner wishes to
substitute an equivalent system. This system to be floor /roof and structural systems and
insulation as constructed, adding RC -1 Resilient Channels attached to the bottom cords at
16 "O.C. and 5/8" thick Fire Rated Gypsum Board attached per Code requirements.
This alternative system proposed is equivalent to TrusJoist Design NER -200, and meets
requirements for One -Hour protection of the structure required by: a Type 5 -One.— Hour
rated building. With installation of a sprinkler system, building fire protection exceeds
the requirements.
We request your approval of above described floor /ceiling, floor /roof system be
approved.
Enclosed is NEC -200 Assembly data sheet for reference.
Gary, thank you again for working with us to achieve solutions to the code issues stated
above. We are all working for economical solutions to provide a safe code compliant
building. If you have any further comments, questions, concerns or suggestions, please
call me at 503- 977 -5227.
Sincerely,
