The City of Tigard has received a copy of a letter from Mentrum Architecture Incorporated addressed to the Oregon State Board of Architect Examiners. The letter stated that Mentnun Architecture, Inc._ was no longer the architectof record for this r g position project. Altho�zghxhe City of _ - - - -- - - Tigard is not in the sition of involvement relating to contractual matters between you and Mentrum Architecture, we do require that you identify the architect or engineer of record responsible for the design of the building. Section 106.3.4.1 of the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code requires buildings of this type to have an architect of record, which was Mentrum Architecture. It also states the building official shall be notified in writing by the owner if the architect of record is changed or unable to continue to perform the duties. The architect of record serves purposes other than the design of the building. They are responsible for review and approval of deferred submittals to determine whether they are in conformance with the original design, design observation programs, design changes and other responsibilities that require professional registration. The absence of an architect or engineer of record has resulted in the discontinuation of any further inspections by the City of Tigard Building Division. No work shall progress past any point in which an inspection is required until such time as an architect or engineer of record is identified that will be responsible for all phases of construction of this project. Please submit the name and signature of the architect or engineer of record that will assume this responsibility to the City of Tigard Building Division.
