Yes the dimensions you noted for the western facade are correct.
Yes, the total height of the monument sign including the footings is less than 6 feet.
The monument sign is set one foot outside of the Public Utility Easement in both directions. Brian
Wethington from Greenworks, the landscape architect on the project will send you a drawing showing the
location and relation to the visual clearance area.

I have taken a look at the sign permit applications for the library. I just have a few questions. From the
plans it looks like the western facade has dimensions of 74' x 20' (based on the scale). Is this correct?
Based on the sketch for the freestanding sign, it looks like the footing plus sign does not exceed six feet
at any point and will not require a building permit. Is the total height under six feet, including the footings?
Finally from the site plan it appears the freestanding sign is within the visival clearance area for the
intersection of Wall and Hall. Please sumbit a scaled site plan placing the sign outside the visual
clearance area. (Chapter 18.795). Please let me know if you have any questions.

REQUEST (Description):
1. At the top of the Monument Sign, Mutual Materials does not make the Norman brick in Inca color as
a solid 12" nominal header as specified. Bromley Masonry suggested changing this to roll -lock
bond. This, however, will increase the height of the brick and associated concrete by 1 ".
Refer to the attached Sheet A. Please confirm that this is acceptable.
2. Please confirm that the attached Sheet B showing the actual location of the Monument Sign is
acceptable.
3. Sign #2 shown on the site plan drawing LP -S is located at the new Library entrance off Wall Street
that will not be completed until next year after the library is operational. This Sign Type E/B directs
people to the "Drive -up Book Returns ". Should this sign be installed now even though the new
entrance will not be complete? Should the sign be re- located to an alternative location?
