This letter is in response to your request for a Director's Interpretation of the permitted use
standards. You have proposed to locate a school in conjunction within the existing Trinity
Evangelical Church. Because the existing facilities are developed with three classrooms
that can accommodate the proposed school use, and the religious teachings are related to
the existing approved church use of the property, the proposed school use is in
accordance with the previous land use approvals for this site.
The school is not expected to create a nuisance if operated as described in your "April 24,
1996" letter. All permitted uses have a continuing requirement to comply with the City's
applicable noise and other nuisance standards.

Dear Mr. Roberts,
I am writing this letter as per our recent conversation regarding the
possible operation of a private school on the site of C. _ , ..-
I am hereby requesting a Director's opinion on the
following use.
The school would be a limited services private Christian school offering
grades 4 -8 to 'a small (under 65) number of individuals. There would be
- no before Or after school care and no bus service; school families would
car pool and drop off and pick up students.
Curriculum would include all necessary subjects for promotion from
: grade to grade equivalent to Oregon public schools, but would not include
• _ a sports program, band or other extra curricular activities.
As a Christian school Mount Calvary will have a distinct and specialized
Bible study curriculum specifically designed to train and instruct students
in hermeneutics,, exegetical and topical approaches "to"teaching Scripture, .
and basic familiarity with study tools to access the underlying languages of
ancient Hebrew and Koine' Greek upon the English translations are
based.
Staffing for the school would consist of 5 or fewer individuals. '
Irripact on the area would be minimal. :Noise would be:

I would like permission to operate the school this coming school year.
(September - June, 1996/97). Hours of operation would be.8am 3pm.
