The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code
(OSSC) 2007 edition; National Fire Protection Association, Standard 13 (NFPA 13)
2002 edition and the State of Oregon Fire Code (OFC) 2007edition.
GENERAL
1. Clearances shall be provided around all piping extending through platforms,
foundations, walls and floors. The diameter of the hole shall be 2 inches -
larger than the penetrating pipe for pipe sizes 1 inch through 3'h inches. The
diameter of the hole shall be 4 inches larger than the penetrating pipe for pipe
sizes 4 inches and larger. Sections 9.3.4.1 & 9.3.4.2 NFPA 13.
2. An approved audible sprinkler flow alarm shall be provided on the exterior of
the building in an approved location. Such sprinkler water -flow devices shall
be activated by water flow equivalent to the flow of a single sprinkler of the
smallest orifice size installed in the system. Section 903.4.2 OFC
3. The end sprinkler on a line shall be restrained against excessive vertical and
lateral movement.
4. New sprinkler system piping shall be hydrostatically tested at working
pressure.
5. Piping shall be protected from freezing as per plans.
Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval
stamp, shall be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the
