Hi Nikki,
Yes. I already spoke with respondent Greg and informed him that if Planning finds that he hasn't expanded the
footprint on the reported accessory structure shed, I would close the associated code compliance case.

Hi Ken,
I'm working with this customer to resolve their code compliance case, they were reported to have done
work on the existing shed without permits and the shed is also within the setback. During my review, I
found that the shed is an existing nonconforming structure and can remain on the property unless the
property owner adds on to the shed to increase its nonconformity(such as adding more square footage).
The property owner confirmed they did not add any additional square footage to the shed and instead,
they changed the siding and replaced the existing door and window. I confirmed with the building
department that no permit is required for all of the work listed by the applicant below. Are we able to
resolve the code compliance case?
Thanks,
Nikki

Hi Nikki, I was just speaking with my husband and he said that we just replaced the existing door with a
new door. Nothing was modified structurally for the window it fit between the studs. The footprint of the
shed has not changed since it was originally built in 2014 or much earlier. We added vapor barrier and
cedar siding onto the outside of the shed and fix the gutters so they drained properly. The shed is 8 x 16
by about 7 1/2 feet tall. The shed is being used for firewood and yard tools.
Best

Hi Jess,
The work involved with the shed is still under review, I've reached out to the building
department to confirm if permits were needed for the alterations done on the shed since
you had previously mentioned that you had also added a new window and a new door to it.
Thanks,
Nikki
