HomeMy WebLinkAboutDCC2025-00026 Violator Counter Visit from Planning 6-17-2025 From: Planner on Duty Sent: Tuesday,June 17, 2025 7:22 PM To: Ken Ross; Planner on Duty Subject: DCC2025-00026 Violator Counter Visit Hey Ken, Just wanted to make you aware that the violator(Jess Donovan) for DCC2025-00026 visited the counter this afternoon and both myself and Branden talked to her. She was agitated. I discussed with her that it sounds like the complaint is regarding unpermitted work at the property and it is associated with a home business operation. I asked her about this home business and she said that they are doing TI work to run a business out of the building, and that she planned on nobody living there. I told her that that is not allowed as you can't have a commercial use in a residential zone, and that someone would have to be living there for it to be a home occupation, and that the business would have to meet all of the general provisions/approval criteria for either a Type I or II HOP. I printed her out the HOP code section and advised her to apply as long as someone will be living there. I also had her talk with Branden. I believe he said she'd at least need to get an electrical permit, but that she should discuss this with you. I also advised her to contact you since she was wondering where this code compliance case came from and who submitted it. I didn't give out the information of the complainant.
