�- ..: WHEREAS, the Hispanic and Latino people have contributed greatly to the social, cultural, 'c=-
s and economic vitality of Oregon and the United States, strengthening our cities and
neighborhoods through dedication, entrepreneurship, and rich cultural traditions; and • -4'.'
V. WHEREAS, the City recognizes that recent years have brought heightened uncertainty for
many Hispanic and Latino residents, with immigration enforcement actions and ICE raids I_
"f creating fear and instability for families and communities; and ;rv-_,

' ' `! WHEREAS, these circumstances have placed strain on households, separated loved ones,
'�- and caused children and youth to live with anxiety about the security of their families; and r •y
WHEREAS, despite these challenges, Hispanic and Latino residents of Oregon continue to •r-_-' :
- -.;,,i' I enrich our community through their contributions in education, business, healthcare, j

`� agriculture, the arts, and countless other fields; and ; •
WHEREAS, El Tigre Fest, an annual celebration of the contributions of Latino Tigard r4'ft`-
:4" community members, continues to serve as a reminder of resilience and cultural pride, ";'
featuring live music, food, and community gathering, and offering a space for joy, ;� 1

remembrance, and unity during uncertain times; and

of the dignity, resilience, and humanity of Hispanic and Latino neighbors, affirming their
