Hi Jennifer,
Just to clarify,we were under the impression that the repair work would begin soon, so we were not requiring you to
obtain multiple permits. However, since you have indicated that the repair work will be pushed out to 2024,you will
need to apply for a temporary structural permit per Section 105.1 ex. 2 included below.

105.1 Required.

Any owner or owner's authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, change
the character or use of the occupancy, or change the occupancy of a building or structure, which is
regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be performed, shall first make application to
the building official and obtain the required permit. See ORS 455.020(2).
Exceptions:
1. 1.Construction subject to minor labels and master permits when authorized by the
inspection authority under OAR Chapter 918, Division 100.
2. 2.Temporary (180 days) structural supports, structural replacement or repairs performed in
an emergency on an existing structure. The authority having jurisdiction shall be notified of
this work within 72 hours and permit application for the temporary work shall be submitted
within the next five business days.

Permits do not need to be pulled until the construction project begins which will not be until 2024,correct?

both decks to be repaired, along with structural drawings and an engineering letter for the repairs. I apologize for any

Ken,
I am a little confused as you wrote below that Ash Creek needed to have the contractor that performed the
work pull permits,but WRB states you told them they did not.
Would you be able to clarify in writing if we do or do not need to pull permits at this time?
Once the scope is developed and the Board of Directors approves a scope and awards a contract to the vendor,
that vendor will pull all necessary permits when the project is set to begin,which again is not until next year.
