Find Summer Fun for All Ages at Tigard Public Library!
Over 2,300 people have already signed up for Tigard's Summer Reading adventure, and
there's still time for you to join them! Kids and teens receive a free book for signing up and after
completing the adventure. Read or complete bonus activities throughout the summer to earn
exclusive button or sticker badges.
Adventure Pass is back! Visit the WCCLS website to choose a destination and a date, reserve
a pass with your library card number and password, and enjoy your visit. You can reserve a pass
up to 4 weeks in advance, and new passes are released on a rolling basis. Check back often if
you don’t see what you’re looking for!
Watch Pokémon Detective Pikachu on the big screen on Saturday, July 19 at 1 PM, then
embark on a scavenger hunt to find hidden Poké pals throughout the Children’s Room. Fun
prizes and surprises await—gotta catch ’em all!
We are thrilled to welcome the Paradise of Samoa Dance Troupe on Sunday, July 20 at 2 PM
for an exciting all-ages tour of the Pacific Islands! Revel in traditional dances, songs, and
costumes of Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Tahiti, Hawaii, and Aotearoa.
Library Closed Friday, July 4
Tigard Public Library will be closed Friday, July 4 in observance of
Independence Day.

Pop Up in the Park!
Sunday, July 13 | 3-4:30 PM
Summerlake Park | Kids & Families
We've teamed up with our friends in Tigard Parks & Rec and to
bring you an outrageously fun musical performance in the park
with Eric Herman! Eric's music will have you smiling from ear to ear,
dancing from limb to limb, and laughing from funny bone to funny
bone. Games begin at 3 PM, music starts at 3:30 PM!

Teens
Teen Outdoor Movie Night: Ready Player One
Tuesday, July 29 | 8-11 PM
Library Backyard | Teens entering grades 6-12
Bring a blanket and park yourself in front of the big screen on a
starry night! Enjoy lawn games and other activities at 8 PM before
the film begins. Movie starts playing at dusk. Registration online is
encouraged, drop-ins are also welcome!

Aging and Poverty
Saturday, August 2 | 11 AM
Burgess Community Room | Adults
One in five women will need expensive care as they age, but half of
women aged 55 to 65 have no personal retirement savings. Please
join us as Kathy Sharp, author of Aging into Poverty, discusses this
looming crisis and solutions for families in the current landscape.
