Tigard Public Library Grows with Our Community!
From materials and collections to programs and services, Tigard Public Library continues to adapt to
meet the changing needs of Tigard. Some highlights of library services for the past year include:
239,628 visitors, a 5 percent increase over 2023.
2,916 new library cards, the highest number since 2019.
733 programs with 22,415 attendees, up from 693 programs and 17,379 attendees in 2023.
1,473 seed packets distributed to 420 community members in the Community Seed Library's first
9 months.
1,131 Technology Room reservations in its first 10 months of availability.

Asia. This musical performance is brought to you by the founder of
Heart Strings Mandarin, Sharon Gan, and her fellow musicians Dr.
Jerry Lin and Dan Velasquez.

Classical Up Close: Concerts for Kids

Join us for a free and fun classical music program for kids of all
ages and their families!
Program presented in partnership with Classical Up Close, a
chamber music festival created and produced by members of the
Oregon Symphony and friends.

Creating a Text-Based RPG in Java
Tuesday, May 6 | 4:30-6 PM
Technology Room | Teens in grades 6-12
Do you have a story to tell? A world to build? Discover the power of
programming! WCCLS Digital Navigator Mari, will show you how to
create your very own text-based RPG. No previous programming
experience required! Call 503-718-2656, stop by the Children’s
Desk, or register online.

Cooperative Library Services, the Washington County Broadband
Action Team, and the American Connection Corps.

BossaPDX: A Musical Performance
Thursday, May 15 | 6-7 PM
Burgess Community Room | Adults
Local favorites BossaPDX present their arrangements of classics
by Brazilian musical legends including Gilberto Gil, Roberto
Menescal, Caetano Veloso, and more. BossaPDX is renowned for
their combination of classic bossa and Brazilian jazz and is an
eminently danceable experience.

Plant Swap
Sunday, May 25 | 11 AM-12:30 PM
Burgess Community Room | Adults
Calling all plant enthusiasts, newbies, and everyone in between!
Bring any plants, cuttings, starts and bulbs you’d like to share; then
take home a new plant for yourself. Don't have a plant to share?
We’ll have extras, so come anyway! Please label each plant with its
name along with its light, soil, and water preferences.
All Ages
All Ages Summer Reading Starts June 1!
Level Up at Tigard Public Library with a Summer Reading
adventure for all ages! Beginning June 1, everyone in your family
will get a free book just for signing up. Help us reach our
community goal to earn wondrous new items for our Library of
Things collection!
This program is supported in part by the Ready to Read Grant
program administered by the State Library of Oregon, and by
Friends of the Tigard Library.

Help Support the North Dakota Street Bridge
Replacement Project!
Tigard’s North Dakota Street Bridge is in the running for critical
funding from Metro’s Regional Flexible Funds—but we need your
help to secure it! This bridge supports ALL modes of travel and is
ranked among the top 10 projects under consideration. Deadline
to comment: April 30. Find the project in pink on the map. Add
your comment to show support! Take the survey.
Fanno Creek Trail Walk & Roll Celebration
Saturday, May 10 | 10 AM-1 PM
Woodard Park (10155 SW Johnson Street) to the Tigard Public
Library (13500 SW Hall Blvd.) (~1.7 Mile)
Get moving this May and join Tigard Mayor Heidi Lueb for the
Fanno Creek Trail Walk & Roll Celebration! We’ll kick off at
Woodard Park and walk, bike, or roll along the scenic Fanno Creek
Trail, finishing at the Tigard Public Library.
The fun continues at the Library with kids' activities and resource
booths to explore! Bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawn or grab a
delicious lunch from Chilitas (in the Tigard Public Library lobby
area), available for purchase on-site.
