Tigard Welcomes First WCCLS Digital Navigator via AmeriCorps Tigard Public Library is thrilled to welcome Mari, the first WCCLS Digital Navigator. Mari is serving in the American Connection Corps through AmeriCorps, and will help community members at libraries across the county. A digital navigator is someone who provides consistent technical support for people in the community, whether that’s basics like how to use a computer or professional development like how to access web-based resources. At Tigard, you'll see Mari in upcoming one-on-one technology help sessions as well as in classes about AI, computers, and smart phones. Learn more about Mari, the Digital Navigator program, and the American Connection Corps from our friends at WCCLS. More from the City of Tigard Drop-in Utility Bill Support Sessions Saturday, November 2 | 10-11 AM Wednesday, November 6 | 12-1 PM Thursday, November 14 | 4-5 PM Library Technology Room The City of Tigard introduced a new utility bill system on October 28, and customers will need to create a new account, re-establish autopay, and can access new service features. Customers are welcome and encouraged to attend drop-in support sessions to get help navigating the new system or answer questions about their utility bill. Laptops and city team members will be available to provide assistance. No registration required. Find more resources. Leaf Disposal and Food Drive Events Saturday, November 9 | 9 AM-3 PM Saturday, November 23 | 9 AM-3 PM Cook Family Park Area residents are encouraged to drop off leaves and donate non- perishable food items at the free Leaf Disposal and Food Drive. The event will be held at Cook Family Park, at the end of 92nd Avenue just off of Durham Road near Tigard High School. Leaves, small yard debris and clippings can be loose or bagged. Paper bags, purchased at local hardware stores, are preferred. Plastic bags may be used for transport, but must be emptied before leaves are accepted by city staff. This event is free, though a donation of two non-perishable food items is recommended. Donations will be forwarded to area residents through Tigard’s St. Vincent de Paul food distribution facility. Veterans Day Flag Raising Ceremony Monday, November 11 | 8 AM Tigard Public Library Flag raising ceremony with the City of Tigard Police Department Color Guard and a local Cub Scout pack to honor veterans.
