Set up in front of the library with your telescope or binoculars, or use ours, and chat together about what you can see. If the weather is not cooperative, we will still have moon themed activities indoors. Warm beverages provided. Winterwalk Nature Walk Sunday, October 6 | 2-3 PM Burgess Community Room & the Library Backyard | All Ages Join naturalist Natalie DaSilva as she guides a tour of the trail and talks about the WinterWalk she put together for those adventurous enough to brave the fall and winter weather. The WinterWalk will be up October through April. Program presented in partnership with Friends of the Tigard Library. Teens What’s Your Taste in Treats? Thursday, October 17 | 5 - 7 PM Burgess Community Room | Teens in grades 6-12 Teens, only you have what it takes to taste dozens of candies and determine the ultimate seasonal treat! Come for the sugar, stay for somewhat scary games. Costumes encouraged! Take this candy preferences poll to help us plan this event! Adult Northwest Classical Theatre Collaborative: The Year of Magical Thinking Sunday, October 20 | 2-3:15 PM Burgess Community Room | Adults Joan Didion’s award-winning memoir The Year of Magical Thinking recounts the year that both her husband and daughter died. It spotlights the force that grief is in our lives as well as how we can move forward through the trials of loss to heal ourselves. This live performance of the play adaptation includes violin accompaniment and a brief post-play forum discussion. Looking for something good to read?
