Subject: Tests performed on one (1) framed skylight assembly
submitted by Deamor Associates for the Oregon
Convention Center metal framed glazed towers.
REPORT:
Test Unit Description:
Assembly consists of a Deamor 8" rafter system with component
parts as described in project shop drawings and attached four (4)
page drawing. Specimen consists of six typical glass units in
detail, 41- 7/16" x 59 -1/4 ", test frame is 83" x 180" nominal
centerlines. The span of structural rafter and eve starter
assembly were not intended to be actual job condition for purposes
of these tests.

Scope:
To determine by tests per applicable ASTM /ARIA standard
methods, the air infiltrations, water leakage and structural
performance compliance with specifications for sloped glazing when
tested orientated at 45 degrees from horizontal and subjected to
a positive preload of 15 psf.

Results: Passed, No Uncontrolled Water Observed
Discussions:
The water penetration test was performed with weep holes
essentially plugged. The weep holes were tubed to a water
reservoir to prevent the negative pressure from percolating
collected water back into the eve channel.
The eve starter did not simulate actual job conditions. It
consisted of baffled, uncompressed PVC coated, reticulated foam.
A small amount of water was percolated back into the eve when
one (1) weep hole became, inadvertently, dislodged from the
reservoir. This was not considered uncontrolled leakage.
The primary scope of this test was to demonstrate the ability
of the main field of the skylight system to handle the water.
The actual job site conditions will include a gutter flashing
sized to accommodate water from the weep holes at 10 psf negative
pressure or two inches of water column.
