Tell your friends, family members, or neighbors that the library can transform their lives when they “roll out” with a library card. Find a great read, explore new ideas and things, and save money, all in one place. This September, the Tigard Public Library celebrates National Library Card Sign-Up Month by automatically entering new September card sign-ups into a drawing to win a grand prize. We have three grand prizes to give away. There will be stickers and bookmarks for all at the checkout desk. You know the value of a library card, please share your library love with as many as you can, so others can find the transformative power of the library. They might win a prize! Library Closed Monday, September 2 Tigard Public Library will be closed Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day. Online resources are available 24/7 at wccls.org. Kids Fall Storytime Tuesday, September 3 – Wednesday, November 27 Puett Room | Kids & Families All storytimes are FREE and open to the public. Entry tickets are available at the Children’s Desk starting at 10 AM. Space is limited for all storytimes. No storytime on Monday, September 2, Monday, November 11, or Thursday, November 28. Teens Paying for College with Jamison McAndie Thursday, September 26 | 6:30-7:30 PM Burgess Community Room | Teens & Adults If your teen’s future plans include college and you’re wondering how to pay for it, join us for an in-depth look at how the Financial Aid system works and how to maximize the funds your family will be eligible to receive based on your unique situation. Adult Author Talk: Willy Vlautin Sunday, September 8 | 6:30-7:30 PM Burgess Community Room | Adults Award-winning novelist and songwriter Willy Vlautin will discuss his latest novel, The Horse. Willy explores loneliness, art, regret, and hard-won empathy in this poignant novel — his most personal to date — that captures the life of a journeyman musician unable to escape the tragedies of his past. Program presented in partnership with Friends of the Tigard Library.
