The cloud will be supported from the existing wood Berkeley panel roof system. It is our understanding that the proposed T.I. will be removing the existing metal framed suspension ceiling and replacing it with only the proposed cloud. The proposed ceiling cloud is a light gage metal framed with an overall weight of 3 psf maximum. The existing suspension system including lighting has an overall weight of 2.8 psf. The OSSC section 3403.3 allows for a 5.0% gravity load addition and related alterations. The proposed ceiling removal and subsequent cloud addition falls below this threshold and therefore is allowed without analysis of the existing roof structure.
