This summer, we’ll relaunch our ever-popular summer teen volunteer program, so look for those applications at the end of May. Getting to know new people is one of Violet’s favorite parts of her role. She has the opportunity to meet five to ten people each week who are interested in volunteer service, either within our library or the city of Tigard. She enjoys getting to know why people want to volunteer. Director Bernard asked Violet to share one thing people might not know about volunteering. Violet shared that there is a lot of paperwork, document processing, and magic going on “behind the curtain.” Violet also spoke about how she developed our partnerships with the Tigard Garden Club and King City Garden Club, whose volunteers help us with our native plant landscaping. 6.
