Summer Reading Begins Saturday, June 1!
Sign up for Summer Reading! Kids, teens, and adults can pick up a free book and reading log June 1
through August 31. When the log is complete, bring it back to be eligible for more prizes.
Summer Reading is made possible by the Ready to Read grant and Friends of the Tigard Library.
Tigard Community Seed Library
Beginning June 10, you can visit the new Community Seed Library
on Tigard Public Library's second floor, and start cultivating your
own herbs, veggies, native plants, and more. Not sure where to
start? Come to our Seed Starting Workshop on Sunday, June 30.

Library Closed Wednesday, June 19
Tigard Public Library will be closed Wednesday, June 19 in
observance of Juneteenth. Online resources are available 24/7 at
wccls.org.
Fanno Creek Trail Connections Project
The prefabricated bridge that will be installed over Fanno Creek will
be delivered in mid to late June. During bridge delivery, library
traffic flow will be interrupted, and crews will be on-hand to direct
traffic. Parking in the Library lot will still be available. Watch the
Library website, Facebook, and Instagram for updates.

Kids, grab your grown-ups and get ready to enter the world of
Dungeons & Dragons. At the end of this series, you’ll be prepared
to run a campaign at home with your crew. Two workshops to fit
your curiosity. Attend one or both! Register now.

Pride Book Bags
Throughout June While Supplies Last
Teens in grades 6-12
Sign up for a pride-themed book bag filled with an LGBTQIA2+
book and other goodies that will impress you with their rainbow
randomness. Stop by the Children’s Reference Desk to sign up or
register online.

Author Talk: Tribal Histories of the Willamette
Valley
Monday, June 17 | 6:30-8 PM
Burgess Community Room | Adults
Oregon Indigenous historian David G. Lewis, PhD, will discuss his
new book Tribal Histories of the Willamette Valley and share the
Native perspectives on the history of the Willamette Valley taken
from oral history and written word of its Indigenous peoples. Dr.
Lewis is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.
Books will be available for sale and signing.

Fanno Creek Trail Nature Walk
Friday, June 14 | 10 AM-Noon
Meet in Library Lobby | Adults
Join us for a walk with Master Naturalist Natalie DaSilva along the
Fanno Creek Trail as she identifies some of the plants and wildlife
in our area, and their importance to the ecosystem and waters of
Fanno Creek.
Program presented in partnership with Friends of the Tigard Library.
