I observed subgrade to be covered with approx. 1-4-inches of uncompacted %-inch-minus crushed rock. The prepared subgrade visually consisted of brown silt. Using a%" diameter steel foundation probe I evaluated the consistency of the subgrade. Resistance to penetration when probing through the uncompacted crushed rock and the exposed sidewall excavation indicated the lot subgrade was generally medium stiff to stiff. In one area of the prepared subgrade, I observed there to be standing water over the placed rock and subgrade (see site plan). We recommend these areas are dewatered and any soft subgrade be removed. Based on our observations and probing, it is our opinion that the lot 7 subgrade at the locations and elevations noted above has been prepared in general accordance with the project geotechnical report and our field recommendations, assuming the area of subgrade where standing water was seen is dewatered prior to building.
