I used a%Z"diameter steel foundation probe to evaluate subgrade conditions adjacent to and within footing forms. The subgrade appeared to consist of brown silt and',clay(native and structural fill). I additionally observed weathered basalt subgrade within lot 28 subgrade. Resistance to penetration indicates generally stiff clay/silt and dense weather basalt. Based on observations and probing it is our opinion that the foundation subgrade for lots 5 and 28, as indicated above and on the attached site plan, has been prepared in general accordance with our geotechnical field recommendations.
