Team Building Activity
All meeting attendees participated in a team building exercise where they sketched themselves and
shared why they joined the committee and a fun fact about them. Pictures of those sketches are
available in the attached meeting review provided by SSW.
CCE Purpose, Role, and 2024 Work Plan:
Councilor Wolf shared CCE’s purpose by sharing the bylaw language. She also shared the city’s
strategic vision, council goals, and community promise that guide the work that this committee will
address.
Nicole shared the roles and responsibilities of the various committee member positions.
Nicole shared the 2024 Work Plan- what topics the committee will cover, what events/activities that
are available for members to attend, and other tasks listed in their bylaws.
Ashley asked committee members to share what they need as a team to be successful in this work,
also known as a team agreement or meeting ground rules. Those are available in the attached
meeting review provided by SSW.
Wrap Up and Next Steps
Nicole and Ashley opened it up for general questions:
- Bhushan asked about PGE utility increases and the city’s role. The City doesn’t have control
over those decisions but Councilor Shaw will share a community resource
- Other interests were in safe lots, health, park updates, and discussing more complex issues in
community such as houselessness
- Rachel recommended looking into a collaboration tool that committee members can use in
between meetings.
