STORAGE 12 months shelf life In unopened containers when properly stored. Recommended storage is indoors in a ventilated, dry area removed from heat, open flame, ignition sources and direct sunlight.Storage temperatures should range from 60-70°F(15-21°C)and must not drop below 32°F(0°C) or exceed 110°F(43°C). On the job site, materials should remain on the pallet until use and be stored in a shaded, ventilated area. Materials should be covered with a light-colored,reflective tarp for protection against the elements.Allow for adequate air flow inside the pallets. Shelf life could be affected if the product is not stored properly. APPLICATION Surface Preparation:Allow new concrete to cure for a minimum of 28 days and until moisture,RH,and compressive strength values reach an appropriate level.Concrete must be structurally sound, dry, free of grease, oils, coatings, dust, curing compounds and other contaminants.Surface laitance must be removed.Remove defective concrete, honeycombs, cavities, joint cracks, voids and other defects by routing to sound material.Concrete surfaces must be shot-blasted to a an ICRI 3-6 surface profile. Prior to application, test pull off strength of proposed system following ASTM D4541 and ensure the moisture content in the concrete surface measures lower than 5%following ASTM F2659. Mixing:Add equal parts of Part A and Part B into a clean, dry mixing container.Using a heavy duty corded power drill with Jiffy Mixer mixing blade, mix the combined materials for 3-5 minutes minimum until product is uniform in appearance and consistency.Make sure to mix areas around side walls and k=,.-' bottom of pail.Improper mixing will result in non-curing material.Do not thin. AlphaGuardTM C-Prime APPLICATION Installation:Install product using one of the approved application methods evenly at the recommended coverage rate.Use wet mil gauges to monitor coverage rates throughout application.Never fully invert empty pails in an attempt to drain material as this may result in improperly cured material during application.Allow primer to cure prior to top coating.Primer must be top coated within 3 days of application. After 3 days,re-priming will be necessary. NorthGate ClimateFlex shingles are built with the industry's toughest fiber glass mat base, and their strict dimensional tolerance assures consistency. Complex granule color blends and subtle shadow lines produce a distinctive color selection. NorthGate ClimateFlex polymer modified shingles are produced with the unique NailTrak®nailing feature. Please see the installation instruction section below for important information regarding NailTrak. NorthGate ClimateFlex algae-resistant(AR)shingles are algae-resistant and help protect against dark or black discoloration, sometimes called staining or streaking, caused by blue-green algae. Colors: Please refer to the product brochure or CertainTeed website for the colors available in your region. Limitations: Use on roofs with slopes greater than or equal to 2" per foot. Low-slope applications (2:12 to <4:12)require additional underlayment. In areas where icing along eaves can cause the back-up of water, apply CertainTeed WinterGuard®Waterproofing Shingle Underlayment, or its equivalent, according to application instructions provided with the product and on the shingle package. Product Composition: NorthGate ClimateFlex is a polymer modified laminated shingle and is composed of a fiber glass mat base. Ceramic-coated mineral granules are tightly embedded in carefully refined, water-resistant asphalt. Two pieces of the shingle are firmly laminated together in a special tough asphaltic cement. All CertainTeed produced shingles have self-sealing adhesive strips for wind uplift resistance. PRODUCT INFORMATION WinterGuard® products are most commonly used in critical areas such as roof eaves, valleys, and as a waterproofing underlayment for low-slope shingle, metal (Metal and HT only), slate, and mechanically- fastened tile roofing applications. WinterGuard HT (High Tack, High Temperature)and Metal are advanced waterproofing underlayments for shingle, metal, slate and tile roofs. They are specially formulated to resist high roof temperatures under metal roofs. WinterGuard Sand and Granular underlayments are designed for use on roof decks as a waterproofing barrier beneath shingle, slate and tile roofs to prevent leakage due to water back-up from ice dams or wind-driven rain. Limitations: • Do not expose WinterGuard permanently to sunlight. Cover WinterGuard as soon as possible with a permanent roof surface. The maximum exposure time is six (6)months. • WinterGuard will not adhere to wet or cold surfaces. For cold weather tack down, use only roofing nails. Under no circumstances should staples be used with WinterGuard products. Refer to instructions on the carton for additional nailing and sealing instructions. • Do not apply WinterGuard over shingles or underlayment of any sort. • WinterGuard is a vapor barrier. Therefore, if WinterGuard is applied over a majority of the roof deck, proper deck ventilation must be provided. • If WinterGuard must contact sealants or cements, use solvent-based products sparingly, following manufacturer's instructions carefully. Excessive use of solvent-based adhesives can damage WinterGuard's polymer modified asphalt coating. Do not use silicone-based sealants, as they do not maintain adequate long-term adhesion to asphalt. • WinterGuard Sand and Granular products can be applied beneath shingles, slate and mechanically- fastened tile to acceptable roof decks. • WinterGuard HT is specially designed to withstand temperatures up to 250°F. • WinterGuard may become slippery under certain weather conditions. When this occurs, avoid walking or crawling on the product. • WinterGuard Metal Only: Limit stacking to 1 pallet high—Do Not Double Stack. WINTERGUARD—MINIMUM ALLOWABLE APPLICATION SLOPE IS 2:12. Technical Data Sheet WinterGuard Series Page 2 of 3 Product Composition: WinterGuard is a self-adhering waterproofing membrane composed of a tough reinforcement that is impregnated and coated with SBS-modified asphalt.WinterGuard is available in three finishes: sand, granular, and film. WinterGuard Sand and Granular have top surfaces consisting of mineral matter(sand or granules)to enhance traction during application. WinterGuard HT and Metal have a tough, tear resistant film on its top surface that won't scratch metal roofing applied over it. The adhesive bottom surface of all WinterGuard products is protected with a disposable silicone-coated release film, which is split longitudinally down the middle for easier application.
