Library System Update: February 5-7
Library systems are getting an upgrade February 5-7, and this will temporarily impact our
services. Library cards will be required for checkout during this time.
The following services will be unavailable beginning at 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 4:
Placing or changing holds
Self-check machines
Holds lockers
Prepaid printing
Live information about item availability in BiblioCommons
Automatic materials returns
Updating patron records
We anticipate services being restored before Wednesday, February 7, and we will post updates as
needed.
Public computers and printing will be available using a guest pass. WCCLS wi-fi will be available in
our building. Due dates will be extended until February 7 and after.
Community member can return books & A/V using the book drop located across from the Fanno Creek
Trail. All materials can be returned at the Circulation desk during open hours. There will be a delay in
materials being checked in.
Some WCCLS provided apps, like LinkedIn Learning and PressReader may not work during this time.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

Sharon Gan, founder of Heart Strings Mandarin, will lead children
and their parents as they sing, move, play instruments, and tell
stories in Mandarin, English and American Sign Language. All
levels of Mandarin fluency from absolute beginners to native
Mandarin speakers are welcome.

is released! Stop by the Children’s Reference Desk for your free
copy of A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow and join us for

Bayocean: Atlantis of Oregon
Sunday, February 4 | 2-3 PM
Burgess Community Room | Adults
Hear the history of the lost coastal town of Bayocean. In the early
1900s, the strip of land next to Tillamook Bay was home to an
ocean resort town, complete with an indoor dance pavilion and
massive swimming pool, along with houses, restaurants, and road.
Author Jerry Sutherland will share the story of the rise and fall of
the now-buried town. Books will be available for sale and signing.
