Celebrate Your Freedom to Read Banned Books Week is an annual celebration of our Freedom to Read and the value of free, open access to information. It honors the idea that each person has the right to choose what they read. Tigard Public Library stands by our commitment to intellectual freedom as a part of our pledge to be a community hub for knowledge and enrichment where everyone feels welcome. You can display your freedom to read when you pick up a free vinyl sticker celebrating intellectual freedom starting October 1, while supplies last. We invite you to enjoy in this celebration by learning about intellectual freedom and reading any book you choose! If you need a suggestion, here’s a list of frequently challenged books.
