We want your input on redesigning and updating the Technology
Room on the Tigard Public Library’s sec ond floor. The Tec hnology
Room is a 688 s quare f oot room that is current ly set up with
c las s room-s tyle rows of computers on tables. After eight een y ears
of use and s ervice, it's time for a refresh!
Im agine a wel l-used flexibl e space that provides opportunities
for com munity mem bers to devel op skills, engage with each
other, and enjoy increased access to li brary resources.

Tigard Public Library Mourns the Passing of Yvonne Burgess
It is with a great s adness that we share the news that our longtime volunt eer and friend, Yvonne
Burges s , passed away Wednes day, Dec ember 14th, 2022.
Few people have serv ed our communit y with the breadt h and dedication t hat Yvonne did. She guided
the direc tion of library s erv ices as a Library Board member; s he helped our Friends of the Library
organiz ation rais e funds to support library programs ; and s he participat ed in the smooth running of our
operations as a library volunt eer. She gav e her leadership, t ime, and support to t he Library for 46
y ears .

In 2012, t he Tigard City Counc il pas s ed a Resolut ion to name the Library’s Community Room in honor
of George and Yvonne for their servic e t o the Cit y of Tigard and as the t ireless leaders of the Friends
of the Tigard Public Library. We are s o fortunate to be reminded of how much they lov ed our library
every t ime we ent er the Burgess Community Room.

Dr. Mart in Lut her King, Jr. Day.
